Welcome to WORLD WAR II FOR KIDS! So glad you found us. You may wonder what would compel a mom of 3 young boys to create a website about World War II for kids. I’m not much of a war buff, though I did take a class called The Art of Military Warfare as a cadet at West Point. I found learning about war interesting, but it wasn’t something I was passionate about. However, as I explored starting an internet business to help support my family, every expert advised newcomers to begin with something we’re passionate about. I’m most passionate about my boys, and my boys are passionate about World War II. So I thought it would be something we could work on together. Where did their passion for World War II begin? You might think it's because their mom graduated from West Point and proudly served in the Army. Nope, that wasn’t where it began; nor was it because both grandfathers and two great grandfathers fought in war. These factors contributed to their initial interest, but I have to admit that it was a WWII computer game that got them hooked. It’s been a few years now since I allowed them to consolidate their funds and purchase that first WWII computer game. Since then, my two eldest can’t seem to soak up enough information about WWII. So, here we are on a venture to try and share this love for a piece of history with other kids out there. Let’s get started… The two main pages of are site are: - About World War II - Includes information about WWII Battles, WWII Airborne, AAII Aircraft, WWII Tanks, WWII Weapons, etc.
- Products - Find WWII toys, video games, books, movies/videos, uniforms, toy guns, etc.
And being the proud mom that I am, I have to point out our WWII Airborne page, which contains our junior historian's Social Studies Fair paper on The Role of American Airborne Forces in the European Theatre of World War II. He won the county and regional Social Studies Fairs with this project, and moves on to the State Social Studies Fair on March 22nd. So don't miss this article. Since we’re in the early stages of this venture, we plan to add products and information to World War II for Kids regularly. So if you don't find what you're looking for, please check back at World War II for Kids. Feel free to email us at wwii4kids@gmail.com with your inquiries, feedback and requests. Thanks for joining us on our journey! Marge

P.S. I just had to share this with our readers. Our hearts go out to the soldiers who continue to fight for freedom in the Middle East. Here's a song performed by a soldier currently serving in Iraq. Get your kleenex ready if you're sentimental like me. If I Die Before You Wake Here's another one I found on YouTube. Have that kleenex ready. How sad that our soldiers have to wonder if we know that they're out there fighting to defend our freedom. Remember Me
